During the Buckets for Change (formerly Pennies by the Pound) campaign in October, USD 490 schools raised $4,158.74 to donate to United Way of El Dorado.

By the Numbers:

• EHS- $443.81

• EMS- $2,591.24

• Elementary- $1,123.69

The high school competed to see which grade level could bring the most change. EMS did a Change War where they not only competed to see which department could bring in the most change, but they could also sabotage each other by donating paper bills into another department’s bucket. The elementary schools competed by classroom to earn a prize.

And the winners are…

• EHS- seniors with $133.45

• EMS- Science with 51,854 points/$927.38

• Blackmore- Mrs. Onek’s class with $95.24

• Grandview- Mrs. Barnett’s class with $144.68

• Skelly- Mrs. Kelty’s class with $71.45

“The competition was fun, but the real win is the impact these donations will have through United Way,” said EMS STUCO Sponsor Lindsey Hickinbotham.
