Fourth-grade students at Blackmore Elementary applied the business skills they have been studying to a real-world activity by hosting a lemonade stand Sept. 22-25, 2026.

The lemonade stand was open for about twenty minutes before school each morning, serving customers as students and staff arrived for the day. The project provided more than a refreshing start to the day. Students gained hands-on experience with skills like planning, marketing, problem-solving, customer service and handling money.

The marketing put their creativity to work as they designed signs to advertise their product and attract customers. Students took turns standing along the sidewalk and holding the signs to encourage people to buy their lemonade. A dollar secured a bottle of water with a sugar-free lemonade (or other flavor) packet.

In just four days, the students raised $269 with their lemonade stand. To celebrate all of their hard work, they enjoyed a popsicle party. After discussing where to donate their proceeds, students ultimately voted to give it to the Blackmore PTO to help with school projects and initiatives.

The activity was a sweet way for students to learn about entrepreneurship while putting their knowledge into action in #PartOfThePride.
