Blackmore fourth grade lemonade stand sign

Fourth grade students at Blackmore Elementary read "Kids in Business" and put their reading skills into action and applying concepts to real life. They hosted a lemonade stand before school the week of September 22-26, 2025.

Students made signs to advertise the lemonade stand, were scheduled to work shifts to help with advertising and running the lemonade stand each morning. They sold bottles of water with either a lemonade or strawberry lemonade flavor packet for $1 that students could enjoy during the school day.

"They are learning about running a business and we are tying in money and math skills like addition and subtraction, so they are really getting a lot out of it," Blackmore Fourth Grade Teacher Hayden Rhodes said.

They sold out of lemonade and strawberry lemonade packets before it was time to close their stand on the first day, so they restocked to be prepared for the rest of the week. The money raised will be used to purchase items for the students to enjoy during recess.
