BE receives money from Tim Underwood golf fundraiser

USD 490 classrooms received over $50,000 from the HF Sinclair Tim Underwood Memorial Golf Tournament fundraiser. The tournament raised over $265,000 for local non-profits and awardees were celebrated at a luncheon on January 17, 2024.

Blackmore received $34,864 in donations for items such as leisure reading books for K-3rd grade students, standing desks and stools for 5th grade students, multiple copies of popular children’s books that reinforce core vocabulary words, play-based manipulatives and games, and aeroponic tower garden growing systems and seed starting systems.


Elementary Art Teacher Ira Bane received $2,500 to purchase art supplies for Blackmore, Grandview, and Skelly students which will allow him to introduce different techniques and styles of creating art.

Grandview received $3,500 to purchase classroom carpet rugs that will allow for flexible seating options and meeting areas for small groups.


The USD 490 band department received $10,000 to purchase instruments for economically disadvantaged students to use.

High school and middle school Journalism Teacher Ali Hill received $2,253.50 to purchase a new camera lens for photographing sports and theater productions that have dim lighting.
