Skelly fifth grade student Cooper Bentz won the school Spelling Bee on Jan. 16, 2026. Jax Pohl was the runner-up.
Bentz won the bee by correctly spelling the championship word of mustache after the fifth round.
Bentz will represent Skelly at the Butler County Spelling Bee on Feb. 6, 2026, at Butler Community College. Pohl will serve as his alternate.
