Blackmore fourth grade student Dayton McReynolds won the school Spelling Bee on Jan. 14, 2026. Noah Divine was the runner-up.
Although it was down to two spellers by round five, McReynolds and Divine battled it out for 18 more rounds before McReynolds won the bee by correctly spelling the championship word of anguish.
McReynolds will represent Blackmore at the Butler County Spelling Bee on Feb. 6, 2026, at Butler Community College. Divine will serve as his alternate.
