USD 490 first through fourth grade students attended Body Venture in the Rec Center gym on September 11, 2025.
Body Venture is a traveling health exhibit operated by the Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE)’s Child and Nutrition Wellness team. Students get to explore the amazing human body in an interactive way by walking through stations focused on different body systems and healthy habits. Students move through 11 engaging sections that teach them about nutrition, exercise, and making healthy choices using hands-on activities and volunteer presenters.
It took about 55 minutes to complete all stations. Students were grouped in eight to ten and a new group will entered the first station every five minutes to make sure all students had a chance to complete the activities.
