El Dorado High School is excited to welcome Chance Whitehead as the new Head Girls Basketball Coach and History Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year.

Whitehead has experience in both teaching and coaching. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education (History) from Sterling College in 2022. While at Sterling, he was honored as an Academic All-American. He also played varsity football as a wide receiver and earned several awards. In 2020 and 2021, he was named to the KCAC Second Team. In 2021, he earned a spot on the NCCAA First Team All-American list.

After college, Whitehead began his teaching and coaching career at Douglass High School. He taught middle school starting in 2022 and later moved to teach Social Studies at the high school in 2023. During his time at Douglass, he has been an assistant coach for football, basketball, and baseball.

Whitehead says, “I love teaching and inspiring young minds to be the best they can. Teaching history allows me to do that because the decisions we make today affect what we do in the future.”

He is excited to be part of the El Dorado High School community. “This opportunity combines my two favorite passions, teaching and coaching, and I am ready to make a meaningful impact on the students, athletes, and community,” he said. “I am eager to build a culture centered around discipline, teamwork, and steady improvement both on and off the court.”

Please join us in welcoming Mr. Whitehead to #PartOfThePride!
