On April 15, 2025, the EHS JAGK program had another great opportunity to receive some excellent job education and volunteer hours at the Kansas Humane Society!
We spent the morning learning about the different jobs available through the KHS. We also learned about the different duties that come with those jobs. We took a tour of the building and were shown the different areas that housed different animals.
We also got to volunteer by coming up with names and descriptions for animals that had just arrived at the Humane Society.
Lauran Skelton, who is the Kansas Humane Society Youth Education Director, did a great job explaining all of the different jobs, volunteer opportunities, and other ways to get involved at the KHS.
Our students finished the day by hanging out with some of the different animals available for adoption. This was our 2nd year doing this trip.
