Abigail Hutchins in Topeka for award recognition

El Dorado High School student Abby Hutchins won a Kansas National Education Association (KNEA) Just Imagine Justice award for a recording about school violence she submitted to the 2023 Student Expression Contest. There were nine students selected from across the state to receive an award.

"My entry empowers justice for the American students whose voices are not listened to and whose views are ignored by the ones who decide their fate," Hutchins said.

The award includes a $1,000 scholarship and Hutchins was recognized during the KNEA Representative Assembly at the Brown v. Board of Education Museum in Topeka, Kan. on April 22.
