The USD 490 Board of Education approved hiring Nathan Sherwood as Middle School Assistant Principal/Athletics and Activities Director beginning July 1, 2023, during their meeting on Apr. 10.
Mr. Sherwood began his teaching career as an eighth-grade math teacher in El Dorado Springs, Missouri, then moved to El Dorado, Kansas, to teach seventh and eighth grade math at Benton Elementary in 1999. After completing his master’s degree in School Leadership, he accepted an Assistant Principal/Athletic Director position at Circle Middle School, where he remained for nine years.
After a year as the Assistant Principal/Athletic Director for Truman Middle School in St. Joseph, Missouri, Sherwood is ready to return to El Dorado, Kansas, and share his expertise with USD 490.
“The experience in a diverse, urban environment has allowed me to grow as an administrator in ways I never dreamed, but El Dorado has always been home to me,” Mr. Sherwood said.
